Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Trips (Day 4 - Day 6)

Continuation of my Kuala Lumpur Trip..

The Pinnacle of Petronas Twin Tower

The fourth day in Kuala Lumpur,
my friend picked us up and we drove to Kuchai Lama area. We were going to have Dim Sum as breakfast at Ful Lai restaurant. It is a local authentic Dim Sum restaurant where you choose the dim sum that you like from the tray which is carried by the server. He keeps going around the restaurant with the tray. For the special orders such as porridge with egg, pork bun, chee cheong fun (rice noodle roll) can be ordered separately.

The Dim Sum tasted super delicious. The pork bun was super juicy and fluffy bread. I was amazed by the traditional/manual bill transaction which the server comes with the bill and have a look on the plates that we had and counted manually in front of us.

After the dim sum, we walked around the corner and had the soya custard with red beans at Uncle Bean shop, Kuchai Lama. The uncle is very friendly. The shop is very small and feels like home.

The weather was super hot and it was raining in the late afternoon. After freshen up, we used Uber service to Pavilion Mall, another biggest mall in Kuala Lumpur. We walked around and looked around the mall. It was weekend, the mall was full of people. The food republic (food court) is so big, offers so many kinds of delicacies (snacks, baked goods, desserts, Asian food, Indian food, etc.).

We decided to try Dragon-I restaurant, the wood oven has caught our eyes. They roast the duck at the wood oven. It was a crowded day, the restaurant was fully packed and luckily we got our tables without long queuing. We ordered the authentic Peking duck (half portion) which came along with the steamed pancake and condiments (sliced melon, cucumber, spring onion and hoisin sauce). Duck soup is served along with the Peking duck. Besides that, we had the La Mian noodle with beef brisket, braised pork belly with a steamed bun.

The meals were tremendously tasteful, the crispiness of Peking duck, the tenderness of pork belly, and the chewiness of homemade la mian noodle. It was perfect to end up our beautiful day.

Reminder for the tourist at Kuala Lumpur; please be careful with the “Red Taxi”. They could give a higher price without using the meter counting for the ride. If they do so, just try to find other Taxis or use other transportation.

Last two days at Kuala Lumpur.
Another morning at the pool and fitness centre, it just wakened up my mind and freshened up my soul. In the afternoon, we decided to go to Lot 10 which is near Pavilion. It is exactly at Bukit Bintang rail station. We used the rapid KL from Medan Tuanku monorail station. It cost us RM 2.50 one way per person.

Lot 10 is a food court of street hawkers, it has more than 30 street hawkers join together in here. A lot of food/cuisine is served here from a baked good, breakfast porridge/steamed bun, roast duck/pork/chicken, variety of noodle and soup, a variety of oriental dessert, etc; it is food heaven.

My hubby decided to go on half roasted duck, portion of roast pork, noodle wan tan soup and upper portion of steamed chicken. I decided to have rice porridge served with you tiao (fried dough stick) and warm red bean soup (bubur kacang merah) as dessert.

After the meals, we walked around at Isetan shopping centre, the brand new shopping centre; I think it is a high-end shopping centre which sells the high-end/premium product in term of food products, cookware/household items, books and clothes. They sell as well a variety of Japanese snack, cookies, dessert, fruits (strawberry, melon, pear, peach, apple, etc.). Of course, the price is in the high-end level because the products are well packaged, better quality and so on.

In the lower ground of Isetan shopping centre (the market), you can have the tasting sake package, tea, coffee in each counter. Besides that, they have a variety of food counters where they cook in front of us and serve us directly. You can find sushi counter, teppanyaki, soba/udon, tempura (Ginza Hageten), salad and dessert, beef (tamaruya), etc.

We decided to come back here for the dinner and try the tempura counter and the Wagyu beef counter. We tried the a la carte for the tempura, it was tasty. I love the vegetable tempura than the shrimp tempura. Then we moved on to the Tamaruya counter where we chose the Australian Wagyu beef (Tenderloin and ribeyes) from the display counter and paid it first. We informed how the beef will be cooked, any condiments that we love to add on. Then, the server reserved us a seat at Tamaruya counter. E.g. If you have sat in other counters, they will bring the food there.

It was amazing to have a look at how they prepare the beef and cook it in front of us with professionalism to handle the high-quality meats. It was an interesting dinner experience while seating in the counter, having your meal and watching the chef cooks.

The last day in Kuala Lumpur, nothing much has been planned. We did check out from the hotel around 12PM. We headed on to Quill City Mall to have lunch at The Chicken Rice Shop. We took the same meal as our first-day meal, we tried the roasted chicken.

After lunch, we walked to the monorail station at Medan Tuanku and used Rapid KL to reach KL Sentral station. We walked through the NU Sentral Mall to reach the KL Sentral station to take the bus to the airport. It costs RM 12 per person per journey. The journey took us 1 hour to reach the KLIA2. It was a great experience at Kuala Lumpur. The detailed information that you can find through the website: http://www.klia2.info/buses/bus-operators/skybus

After doing the check-in on the kiosk, we headed on to do clearance for GST (Guest Service Tax). It is located on the right side after you enter the check-in hall. Here you must be ready with your passport, boarding pass, the GST registration paper from the shop/mall, the receipt and the things/products. We have to show it and they verify it. They have to give a stamp on the receipt and give us a receipt which is attached on the GST paper. Without the stamp, we cannot receive the money at the Global Blue counter.

After clearing the immigration, you will find the Global Blue counter where you give the GST receipt and receive the money back in cash or in credit card.

Before our flight headed home, we hanged out at the urban food court (KLIA2), had our dinner at the chicken rice shop. I had my favourite apple pie from McDonald's.
