Le Meridien Seoul is one of finest hotel in Seoul after the renovation. The lobby looks like a cat walk stage for the guests.
We decided to visit Le Meridien and try the afternoon tea.
After roaming around the Gangnam street, we decided to end the afternoon at #LeMeridienSeoul Hotel. We visited the lobby lounge and bar, Latitude 37. We have been escorted to the table and presented the menu. The menu is small and fine with different kind of choices for snack, coffee and tea, cocktails. It is pretty easy to understand.
What I found here is they serve Dammann Freres Tea. It was one of high quality tea from France. I used to serve this tea during my job as Hotelier. I love this tea.
We took the afternoon tea set for two persons with the price of 70,000 Won inclusive two choice of beverage (juice, coffee, tea).
After sometimes, they served the tea and juice. We sat down in pretty small table, and the bartender suggested to move us to the bigger table because it is not comfortable to enjoy the afternoon tea set on small table. It was really a great experience from the team. We really appreciated on this attention.
After moving us to the bigger table, they serve the afternoon tea with my choice of rooibos oriental tea and fresh orang juice.
It was pretty elegant and simple presentation. It consisted of a layer plate of lobster burger, chicken club sandwich, halloumi cheese croissant, a layer plate of raisin scones, strawberry and chocolate macaroons, madeleine, choux pastry, chocolate orange cake, and a layer plate of deconstructed carrot cake, deconstructed mille feuille, lemon tart and strawberry jelly and cream. It is served with strawberry jam, clotted cream and whipped cream on the side.
After tasting all the pastry and sandwich, it tasted all good and yummy especially the pastry items. I love the carrot cake. A small feedback for the burger is the bun was a bit hard and a little sweet taste from the balsamico onions but this is my personal taste.
Relaxing time at Latitude 37 was really good experiences. As usual, the bill payment at Seoul should be done at the cahsier/entrance. It is pretty different service from hotels over the world that we ever visited. Additionally, they rarely would like to take a tip. We were amazed with the honesty attitude of the Le Meridien Seoul associates.
